Mr. Weng Yongcai, Deputy Mayor of Yingkou, Liaoning Province, and his party visited Hubei University Tianshu Industrial Research & Design Institute of New Energy Materials for the lithium battery materials project on April 17, 2018. Mr. Han Dangen, Director of the Administrative Committee of Liaohe Economic Development Zone, Mr. Han Yue, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Liaohe Economic Development Zone, and Mr.Jiang Junyu, Researcher of Yingkou Government Office accompanied with Mr. Weng Yongcai for the visit. Mr. Gu Haoshuang, Vice President of Hubei University, Mr.Xiao De, Director of the Institute of Scientific Research and Development, Prof. Tian Jian, Dean of Hubei University Tianshu IRDI warmly welcome the guests in the Library of Hubei University. At the meeting, Mr. Wu, President Liaoning Yingkou Industrial Co., Ltd, Prof. Chang Gang, Prof. Shang Xunzhong, Prof. Wan Li, Prof. Mei Tao, Dr. Zhu Yanchao, and Dr. Wang Yang from the R&D team for lithium battery (positive, negative electrode materials and electrolytes) of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Hubei University also attended the meeting. At the meeting, Mr. Gu Haoshuang, Vice President of Hubei University, first briefly introduced the research strength anddisciplines construction of Hubei University, and focused on the advantage disciplines of Hubei University, such as materials and chemistry. These two disciplines entered the top 1% of the global ESI disciplines. In the new energy battery materials research and comprehensive industrialization, new technologies, new processes and new equipment qre in the domestic leading level. Hubei University is committed to promoting the new model of “Corporate + University” cooperation. It hopes to achieve industrial connection with Yingkou, Liaoning Province, and use advanced science and technology to serve local economic development. At the meeting, Deputy Mayor Weng introduced the basic situation of Liaohe economic development in Yingkou, Liaoning Province. He explained that Yingkou is the first batch of coastal open cities and pilot cities in the National Free Trade Pilot Area, and is an important sea passage in Northeast Asia. It is one of the important transport nodes of the “One Belt and One Road” strategy and is the major channel for international sea-rail transport. As a regional center city and international logistics center, Yingkou is the central city of Liaodong Bay, the central city of Liaodong Bay Economic Zone, Liaodong Bay Economic and Financial Center, and Liaodong Bay Modern Service Industry Center. It was approved in 2016 as the most attractive and liveable city in China. Yingkou has developed traffic, covering highways, railways, ports and airports. The location advantage is obvious. Yingkou Port is the 8th largest port in China, the 11th largest port in the world, and the 19th in the business environment and 1st in the Northeast. Yingkou now has good investment policies, services and environment. And it is very happy to reach cooperation with Hubei University. Deputy Mayor Wengsaid that the Yingkou Government and the Liaohe Economic Development Zone have conducted in-depth research and full comparison and demonstration of lithium battery material industrial parks across the country and learned that Hubei University Tianshu lithium-based new energy material preparation technology is leading domestically and has a scientific design. The scientific concept, innovative preparation technology, leading technical indicators and patent core equipment can realize the advantages of clean production, reduced energy consumption, high transformation rate and total lithium recycling rate. Deputy Mayor Weng invited our institute to establish Yingkou Northern Lithium Battery Materials R&D center. And the center will create a green industrial chain layout for lithium-based new energy materials in Northeast China, to realize the transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure and economic structure of the old industrial area in Yingkou. Hubei UniversityTianshu IRDI is the Hubei Provincial Lithium-based Materials Preparation and Research Center, Prof. Tian Jian, introduced the research and development team of Lithium-based new energy materials of the Hubei University Tianshu IRDI, the R&D and application of lithium-based materials, the R&D and application of cathode materials, the research and application of anode materials, and the development and application of electrolytes were introduced. Our institute now has qualifications such as building materials, chemical engineering, steel structure and installation, and has a leading domestic lithium-based material preparation technology and core equipment. At the meeting, Prof. Tian Jian introduced the lithium-based new material project independently designed by our institute and answered related questions raised by the participants in detail. Mr. Han Dangen, Director of the Administrative Committee of Liaohe Economic Development Zone, Yingkou, Liaoning Province, introduced the basic situation of the enterprises and leading industries in the zoon. The future major industries in the development zone is automotive aftermarket, focusing on the development of new energy auto parts and auto maintenance equipment and accessories. The core parts and components industry of new energy vehicles is one of the three major industries that will be the next major development area of the zone. The new energy vehicle battery in the core parts and components industry of new energy vehicles is also an important part of the core component industry. The industry has great potential for development. The development of science and technology is inseparable from scientific research. The development zone cooperates with Hubei University Tianshu IRDI to establish Yingkou North Lithium Battery Materials R&D Center in the development zone and will develop new energy batteries and related industries in the development zone. It will actively promote the development zone to further optimize and enhance the industry. The development zone will complete the research and development center in Yingkou North Lithium Battery Materials R&D Center and strive to obtain provincial and municipal lithium battery material R&D centers. In order to complete the development of the new energy automotive battery industry, the development zone will use the new energy vehicle battery and its upstream and downstream,such aspositive/negative electrodes and electrolytes. At the end of the meeting, the Hubei Tianshu IRDI and the Liaohe Economic Development Zone of Yingkou, Liaoning Province signed a cooperation agreement to establish the Yingkou North Lithium Battery Materials R&D Center. Prof. Tian Jian expressed that Tianshu IRDI would fully cooperate with Yingkou and provide better services for local social and economic development in accordance with strategic plans such as “Revitalizing old industrial bases in Northeast China”, “One Belt One Road” and new energy automobile industry. After the meeting, Prof. Tian Jian led the delegation to visit our institute and related laboratories.
