Prof. Tian Jian, PhD supervisor, Dean of Hubei University Tianshu IRDI, led the related technical staffs to visit the project site of Baijierui Advanced Materials Cooperation in Jinmen, Hubei Province on Nov. 24, 2017.
Baijierui project is the first lithium battery materials industry chain project settled in Jingmen Chemical Recycling Industrial Park, Hubei Province. It is invested by Hubei Baijierui Advanced Materials Cooperation. The project covers an area of 328 Chinese acres, with a total investment of 2.65 billion yuan, and divided into two phases. The first phase of the project invested 500 million yuan, to construct lithium salt workshop, cesium salt workshop, multi-species workshop and integrated warehouse, etc. It was officially started construction on May. 3rd, 2017, and expected to be completed and put into production at the end of this year. The second phase of the project with a total investment of 2.15 billion yuan, to main produce 30,000 tons of industrial-grade lithium materials and 20,000 tons of battery-grade lithium materials. The upstream industry chain is preparation of lithium salt deep processed by lithium ore, while the downstream industry chain is preparation of power battery and storage battery, to form the full lithium battery industry chain. After the put into operation of the project, the annual output value would be 5 billion yuan. Hubei university is the designer of the second phase project spodumene transformation and acidification roasting production line. At present, the project has completed the overall design and host equipment bidding, and has entered the field flat stage.
Jingmen Chemical Recycling Industrial Park is one of the two specialized chemical industrial parks in Hubei Province. It has obvious geographical advantages and complete infrastructure facilities. It is also the ideal park for the construction of Baijierui lithium battery materials industrial chain project. The project has received great concern and supports form leaders of Jingmen Government, and Jingmen Chemical Recycling Industry Park. The industry development and market prospects of lithium materials and related industries are in line with Chinese strategic goal of building a modern economic system. Prof. Tian Jian said that our Institute would continue to achieve innovative breakthroughs, optimize process design, research and develop the new equipment and select the equipment based on the characteristics of raw materials. We also would form a professional on-site service team for Baijierui, cooperate with them and promote the project construction, and strive to put into operation as soon as possible.
