Professor Tian Jian Was Invited to Participate in the “2018 Yangtze River Economic Belt Industrial Solid Waste Comprehensive Utilization Forum”
The “2018 Yangtze River Economic Belt Industrial Solid Waste Comprehensive Utilization Forum" was held in Chengdu fromOctober 18th to October 20th, 2018. This forum and special exhibition aimed to promote the cooperation of industry, university and research collaboration in the comprehensive utilization of solid industrial solid waste in Sichuan, Yunnan, Hubei, Guizhou, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hunan, Chongqing and the whole country, especially the treatment and utilization of industrial by-product gypsum (phosphogypsum, desulfurization gypsum, etc.,) red mud, coal gangue, fly ash, tailings, smelting waste, silica fume, white mud, etc. In combination with the current large accumulation of industrial solid waste and low comprehensive utilization rate, we are committed to creating a new industrial model for industrial solid waste comprehensive utilization and efficient disposal.
Invited by the organizer, Professor Tian Jian, Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering,Hubei University, and the Dean of Hubei University Tianshui Industrial Research and Design Institute of New Energy Materials, made a special report of “Key Technologies of Common Integration ofPreparation of Sulphuric Acid and Cement from Phosphogypsum”.
Professor Tian Jian highlighted the major breakthroughs in the new technology, new processes and new equipment of the preparation of sulphuric acid and cement from phosphogypsum, including, key technical content, technical solutions and technical key, existing achievements and industrialization prospects. Phosphorus chemical industry is one of the most important supporting industries for sustainable agricultural development in China. The annual emission of phosphogypsum is huge. At present, phosphogypsum is mainly used in the construction industry to produce gypsum board. The annual emission is far greater than the annual consumption, the utilization is limited and the resource utilization rate is low. The massive accumulation of phosphogypsum brings severe environmental stress and waste of resources. The use of abundant sulfur resourcesto produce sulfuric acid and calcium resources to produce cement in phosphogypsum can not only solve the problem of lack of sulfur resources and high-quality limestone resources, but also reduce the production cost of sulfuric acid and cement, and can reasonably handle the massive accumulation of phosphogypsum. The problem of low utilization rate, efficient recycling of resources, and reduction of pollution to the environment, the use of phosphogypsum to produce sulfuric acid and cement technology, has a profound and far-reaching significance for the development of Chinese phosphorus chemical industry and improvement of the ecological environment.
In the existing technical problems for phosphogypsum in the hollow rotary kiln process, the new technology, new technology and new equipment for the preparation of sulfuric acid and cement by phosphogypsum have been developed by our institute. The recovery rate of sulfur reaches 90.%, and the cement label is above 32.5. It not only realizes a new mode of closed cycle economy development of sulfur element in the production system of ammonium phosphate, sulfuric acid and cement, but also finds a new way of efficient recycling of calcium and sulfur resources in phosphogypsum waste residue, which fulfills the green development concept of economic benefits, social benefits and environmental benefits. A number of processes and technologies have obtained national invention patents, and several related academic papers have been published, which have been put into use in industrial pilot production lines in some regions, and it has truly solved the problem of massive accumulation of phosphogypsum.
