Hubei University Tianshu IRDI Organized R&D Department to Earnestly Study the Important Speech of Comrade Xi Jinping in Academician Conference

In order to thoroughly study the spirit of theAcademician Conference, and grasp the future development of science and technology. On May 30, 2018,Professor Tian Jian, Dean of the Hubei University Tianshu Industrial Research and Design Institute of New Energy Materials, organized to studied the important speech of Comrade Xi Jinping at the 19th Academician Meeting of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the 14th Academician Conference of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.Professor Tian Jian made a special interpretation of the Academician Conference, and organized the R&D department to discuss. Mainly including the following aspects,

First, Xi Jinping said that China's scientific and technological development and innovation are facing pressing challenges and missions. The new round of scientific and technological revolutions and industrial changes are reconstructing the global innovation map and reshaping the global economic structure. Science and technology have a profound impact on the country’s future and destiny, as well as people’s well-being. And all countries attach special importance to the development of science and technology. This is not only a huge challenge but also a rare opportunity. Professor Tian Jian said: “The new model of “City+University+Enterprise” proposed by Hubei University will play a powerful engine-driven role in building smart cities, new industries and transformation of traditional industries”.

Second, leading the direction of science and technology development,shouldering the heavy burden of history.Professor Tian Jian pointed out that as a science and technology worker, we must be forward-looking, grasp the development of science and technology, lead the frontiers of science and technology, look at problems with a development perspective, and combine scientific research, resource utilization, and environmental protection organically. We must shoulder the missions entrusted to us by history, as a vanguard of scientific and technological innovation in the new era and strive to build a powerful country in science and technology.

Third, we must stimulate innovation and enhance the ability of independent innovation. Professor Tian Jian emphasized that innovation does not stop in words, but inspires innovation through practice. We should innovate in practice, deepen practice through innovation, and express our ability to innovate continuously and own the core technologies. At the same time, we must have subversive thinking, dare to innovate, be good at innovation, and be bold in innovation.

Fourth, we should develop keen insight to analyze and solve problems. Professor Tian Jian believes that through the insight into the potential scientific problems in the natural world, and use known knowledge structures to analyze and find solutions to the problems.
