It was established in October 2017.
Professor Tian Jian, Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering,Hubei University, Dean of Hubei University Tianshu Industrial Research and Design Institute of New Energy Materials, and Dean ofYulin Normal University Tianshu Calcium Carbonate Industrial Development Research Institute warmly welcomed Mr. Tang Xian and other leaders. Prof. Tian Jian reported the works in the service of local economic construction and school construction of the institute.
Professor Tian Jian reported that in terms of serving the local economy, we have made full use of the abundant calcium carbonate resources in Yulin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and combined the local unique economic features such as papermaking, sugar refining, rubber, and medicine ports to research the new materials and new drugs, expanding the calcium carbonate refinement industry value chain in this area. Based on this, around the extension and R&D of the new material industry chain and the calcium carbonate industry chain, a group of strategic emerging industries with new growth drivers and core competitiveness will be nurtured. In conjunction with the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to implement the “Four comprehensive” strategic plans, our institute has carried out an in-depth study of “City + University + Enterprises” innovation models. Firstly, it has made full use the innovation driving force in universities, and innovation become the driving force for the development of new engines, exploring new models suitable for Guangxi’s own development needs, and fully exploring new growth points and driving force. Secondly, we are focusing on the needs of local economic development and transformation and upgrading of industrial structure, and focusing on optimizing the structure, increasing the driving force, enhancing the advantages, and making up for the shortcomings, boosting the construction of local ecological civilization, realizing the construction of the ecological civilization, the new industrial and economic structure in the new era, which are practicing President Xi’s “Socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era”.
In the discipline construction of Yulin Normal University, Tianshu Calcium Carbonate Industrial Development Research Institute is focusing on actively carrying out cooperation projects onIndustry-University-Research-Application, and in-depth training of innovative thinking and application-type teachers, and promoting practice teaching foundation construction for application-oriented students, building a three-dimensional “Government-Industry-University-Research and Application” school-enterprise cooperation and international cooperation platform, focusing on strategic emerging industry technology services, upgrading the school's awareness of advancement and technological innovation, and helping Yulin Normal University to establish a nationally renowned, regionally leading, innovative education specialty applied high school.
In carrying out Industry-University-Research-Application and transformation of achievements, Prof. Tian Jian briefed introduced the scientific research team, scientific research projects, calcium carbonate industry chain, and domestic leading precipitated calcium carbonate, Nano-calcium carbonate production process technology of Tianshu Calcium Carbonate Industrial Development Institute, as well as the equipment with independent intellectual properties those who are applied to the industrial production lines.
Prof. Tian Jian specially introduced the comprehensive strategic cooperation status of Hubei University and Xingye County, and the construction of high activity calcium oxide EPC project signed by Hubei University Tianshu IRDI and Shuangcheng Building Material Co., Ltd. The annual output of 1 million tons of active calcium oxide production line, annualoutput of 100,000 tons of ultra-fine calcium carbonate production line, annual output of 100,000 tons of nano calcium carbonate production line are supported by China Development Bank with more than 1 billion yuan interest-free credit. As the designer and EPC contractor of these projects, all work of the project construction is proceeding smoothly and it is expected to be completed and put into production in this year.
Secretary of the party committee ofYulin Normal University, Mr. Tang Renguo, Principal, Mr.Wang Zhuohua said that Yulin Normal University would fully support Tianshu Calcium Carbonate Industrial Development Research Institute to carry out various research and development work. They firmly convinced that, with the care and supports of governments at all levels, Tianshu Calcium Carbonate Industrial Development Institute can make full use of the unique regional advantages and rich mineral resources of Guangxi, as well as a variety of patented technologies and innovative processes, to create a calcium carbonate industrial chain and economic value chain industrial park with Yulin characteristics, and strive to build Xingye County and Yulin City as “China fine calcium carbonate industry demonstration base”. Yulin Normal University would provide more policy and other supports to the institute.
Mr. Tang Xianjincarefully listened to the presentations and reports of the school leaders and Professor Tian Jian, he fully affirmed the achievements of Yulin Normal University in advancing the comprehensive reform, transformation and development, and the settle of Tianshu Calcium Carbonate Industrial Development Institute in Yulin. Mr. Tang Xianjin highly appreciated and affirmed the works of the institute. He also encouraged the institute to insist on localization and service to localities, continuously enhance the contribution and value in the service of local economic and social development, and make use of nanometer and ultra-fine high-grade calcium carbonate products to win the markets in ASEAN countries and surrounding areas. He hope that in the near future, with the efforts of the institute and the strong supports of local governments, Yulin would be the most important precipitated calcium carbonate production base in China to keep pace with Hezhou.
