The Seminar of “A Multi Use Grinding Mill to Defuse Overcapacity” Was Held in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region
The seminar of “A Multi Use Grinding Mill to Defuse Overcapacity and Enhance the Core Competitiveness of Enterprises” was held by Hubei University and Tianshu IRD in Bin Yang, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on May 13th. The seminar focused on the second green utilization of industrial solid waste and tailings, to carry out technical exchanges and experience sharing. The meeting aims to guide and help the iron and steel, building materials, concrete, thermal power and other related industries to actively adjust the development ideas. Through technological innovation, management innovation and marketing innovation, effectively alleviate their pressures on resources, energy and environment, strengthen innovation driven, promote the supply side structural reform, especially transformation of upgrating, defuse overcapacity and enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises.
Dr. Tian Jian, Dean of Hubei University Tianshu Industrial Research and Design Institute of New Energy Materials (Tianshu IRDI), senior consultant of China Cement Network, Director of Metallurgy Association, member of Industrial Solid Waste Specialized Committee, China Green Building Materials Industrial Alliance, Professor of Hubei University, introduced several self-developed green core technologies in the meeting:
1) Green ecological comprehensive utilization technology of bulk industrial solid waste.
2)Deep and efficient disposal technology of gold, silver, copper and other metal tailings.
3) New multiple shielding radiation proof concrete preparation technology.
4) Calcium carbonate products and resource efficient production and preparation technology.
5) Phosphogypsum producing sulfuric acid and cement key technology.
6) Preparation of high performance concrete by industrial solid waste and tailings.
7) Production and application of new high-strength and wear-resistant composite plate.
8)Application of wear resistant materials and modification of lifting machine tail, etc.
These technologies were highly concerned and well received by the delegates in the meeting.
The “Green Ecological Industrial Solid Waste and Cement Common Integrated Grinding Process” and “Deep and Efficient Disposal Technology of Gold, Silver, Copper and other Metal Tailings” are one of the major science and technology innovative and supporting Projects of Hubei province. and “Green Ecological Industrial Solid Waste and Cement Common Integrated Grinding Process” was recommended as advanced and applicable technology for the conservation and comprehensive utilization of mineral resources by Ministry of Land and Resources. It has been applied to demonstration production lines of many cement, concrete, iron and steel enterprises in Henan, Hubei, Shandong province etc., and the annual output value is 8 billion yuan (RMB). After the meeting, experts and representatives were invited to visit the “Aunnal yield of 500 thousand tons of industrial solid waste and tailings powder production demonstration line” independent researched, developed and designed by Tianshu IRDI.
The production line of the first one for efficient preparation powder of grinding mineral slag and steel slag, nickel alloy slag, wollastonite, silicon mud, volcano rock, and it can also produce various kinds of cement, with green ecological characteristics of “low energy consumption, low pollution, and low consumption of resources”. The Φ 3.2 × 13m integrated grinding system was adopted in this production demonstration line.

Production of silicon mud powder:
Yield: 110t/h;
Specific surface area: ≥ 450 ~ 600m2/kg;
High quality solid powder and cement production can provide raw materials for surrounding concrete stations, help to improve the development potential in reform and transformation, enhance the comprehensive influence of Rio Tinto Group in the Guangxi area.
After the visit, they had a interactive forum “comprehensive utilization of industrial solid waste and tailings, transformation and upgrading of enterprises”. Tianshu IRDI actively answered technical problems of comprehensive utilization of industrial solid waste and tailings use patterns and and optimization of grinding system, confusion of transformation and upgrading of enterprises. They discussed the green industry chain development model. Prof. Tian stressed that enterprises need to have innovation and development thinking and forward awareeness, to actively build a circulation, closed, green industry chain across iron and steel, metallurgy, mining and building materials fields, to achieve collaborative transformation and upgrading cross industry, actively practice the supply side structural reform. So as to resolve the overcapacity crisis and enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises.
